Sometimes, late at night when the light filters in around the gaps behind the curtains casting odd shadows in the corners, you imagine you're the only person left in the world. Then you hear the distant sound of a train starting to move slowly on its way, the rumble of the cars as the couplings clutch each other in a panicky embrace. "Don't leave without me," they say to each other. But somewhere along those parallel lines they know that departure is inevitable.

We've been writing as a couple of bands for several years, ie. Chess Club, Vanishing Islands. Those projects have been more performance oriented. This project is more production oriented. It would be nice to hear this performed live, but the orchestration makes it difficult.. ... more
